Black Pearl Mail provides you with the option to use a different template for new emails and forward/reply emails. Also, the placing of the branding with the email also needs to be determined, based on whether it is a new email or a forward/reply email.
For example, if it is a new email, then the branding needs to be placed at the very bottom of the email.
If it is a forward/reply, then the branding needs to be placed directly under your reply.
Mail servers as a standard will prepend the subject with either "RE:" or "FW:" if it is a forward or reply, to allow recipient mail servers to identify if it is a new email or a forward/reply. If the email subject isn't prepended with either "RE:" or "FW:", then recipients can assume it is a new email. The Black Pearl Mail platform will use this information to determine the following:
a. Which template should we apply (i.e. new email template or forward/reply template)
b. Which section of the email should the branding be placed (i.e. at the very bottom of the email or directly under your reply)
If the subject is modified in anyway and the FW: or RE: is removed, then this can cause inconsistencies with branding. For example, if the "RE:" or "FW:" is removed on an email chain that included 10 replies, then Black Pearl Mail will assume this is a new email and place the lower portion of the branding at the very bottom of the email, below all 10 replies. For this reason, it is important not to alter the subject in anyway. If the subject needs to be changed, we suggest creating a new email.
