Obtaining Email Samples for Google Workspace

What will you need to do?

If you have reported a bug or a mail flow issue with Black Pearl Mail, the Customer Support team may require samples of the affected mail in order to investigate the issue. We require a specific file type (.eml) to carry out our investigate, so obtaining this sample must be carried out from the Gmail web application and not your desired desktop application.

There are 2 steps required:


STEP 1 – Login and go to the Gmail Web Application

1) Open/go to https://mail.google.com/ and login with your Google Workspace credentials.


2) Click on the folder on the left-hand side of your screen where the email is located. Alternately, you can search for the email in the search box.



3) Click on Compose. This should open up a box on the screen to allow you to create a new email.




4) Click and hold your mouse curser on the sample email and drag it into the body of the new email. This will add the sample email as an attachment to the new email. Confirm that the email has been attached. You should see the attachment below the body of the email.


STEP 2 – Send a Copy of the Email to the Black Pearl Mail Support Team 

1) Send the email to support@blackpearlmail.com.



Repeat the process for any other samples that the Customer Support team have requested.
