Removing/Replacing the Organization Name in a Signature

Removing/Replacing the Organization Name in a Signature

Your Organization Name is a required field in the Black Pearl Mail system and is displayed in a User's signature by default. Customers may choose to have their Organization Name replaced or not displayed in the signature.

Note: There is a data hierarchy within the Black Pearl Mail system where data in a certain location will overwrite data from another location. See this article on what overwrites what for more information.

To replace the default Organization Name with something else, simply use a Group. Within the Group Information, there is the "Organization Name" field. When populated, this field will replace the Organization Name in the Company Settings. All users in this Group will now have the Organization Name from the Group Information in their signature.

Once logged into the Black Pearl Mail application, navigate to the Groups section.

Once you're at the Groups section, select the Group you wish to add the Organization name to. If you have not created a Group this will need to be done first.

Once the Group has been selected/created you will have the option to "Modify Group Information".

You will now have the ability to add an Organization name that will exclusively populate for the members in this Group.

To not have an Organization Name display in a signature, simply edit the Group information and enter a single space into the Organization field. All users in this Group will now have a blank space in their signature where the Organization Name would normally be shown.

Click Save in the upper righ-hand corner.

Please allow 5 minutes for any changes to propagate before testing.
