Minimizing Black Pearl Mail service interruptions when migrating to another mail platform

As a Black Pearl Mail customer, your company may have made the decision to switch their current mail provider  from Microsoft 365 to Google Workspace, or Google Workspace to Microsoft 365. This steps in this article will explain how you can minimize Black Pearl Mail service interruptions when switching mail providers.
Please note, Black Pearl Mail currently supports Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 customers. If you are migrating to an email platform outside of these options, Black Pearl Mail will not work.
1. Log a ticket with the Black Pearl Mail support team to inform them of the migration. This is an important step, as we will need make a system change on your behalf. We recommend you send this email at least 3 days before the migration cut over is scheduled. You will need to send an email to support@blackpearlmail.com and include the below information:
  1. Date and time of migration cut over.
  2. Email platform you are migrating too.
  3. Tenant address (M365 only).
2. Ensure your SPF record has been updated and DKIM has been configured for your new mail provider.
3. Configure Black Pearl Mail for your new mail environment; Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
4. Disable the Black Pearl Mail rule for your new mail environment; Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
5. Before the date and time of your migration, disable the Black Pearl Mail rule for your current mail environment.
6. Once Black Pearl Mail have confirmed that the change has been made from their end (you will hear back from them via your support ticket), login to https://admin.blackpearlmail.com and go to Settings>Mail Settings. Select your new mail provider, and click save. If your new mail provider is already selected, then you can skip this step.

7. Re-enable the Black Pearl Mail rule for your new mail environment.
8. Send some test emails to confirm your emails are routing and branding. If there are any problems, disable the Black Pearl Mail rule for your mail environment and contact support immediately.
